Saurobot - comprised of 'sauropsid', the group name for living reptiles and birds, and their extinct relatives; and 'robot'
A robot in the shape of a Lagosuchus talampayensis, Byte is intensely curious about the world around him and loves meeting new people. Though he tends to act playfully, he knows when he needs to be serious. When in battle, he shows focus, adaptability, and often a sense of fun, especially when trouncing his opponent. His extensive knowledge of dinosaurs and other sauropsids helps inform the teens (and the audience) about the various creatures that his evolutions are based on. Often naïve and gullible at first, Byte shall gradually learn more about the world and find his place in it.
LUKE BANNERTON

Age: 15
Luke is charismatic, lively and dashing, even if he's not the most intelligent of people. He quickly accepts the offer to help Byte, driven by his lifelong love of heroes - his phone is used as an interface device and he handles the Evolution Keys. A charmer, he has a reputation for flirting with girls, although he makes an exception for his close friend Charlie. Luke is stubborn to the end, but he does not immediately realise the gravity of the situation he has become involved in, and has to confront some difficult moments. As the series goes on, Luke shall learn what it means to be a hero, and the responsibilities that come with it.
CHARLOTTE 'CHARLIE' HAYES

Age: 15
Luke's closest friend, Charlie has known him for ten years. She is sweet-natured, fun-loving and warm, and although she doesn't talk about it, she is an excellent violinist. For years, Charlie has harboured feelings for Luke, and the fact that he ignores her while flirting with others frustrates her (typically to comedic effect). She typically focuses on others and selflessly aims to make them happy, and struggles to follow her own desires – it even takes a little while for her to find her place as the team's tactician. Gradually, Charlie shall realise the importance of fulfilling her own wishes and making the most of her potential.
HENRY MERCHANT
Country of origin: United States of America
Age: 16
Another of Luke's close friends, Henry is a skilled gamer and has plenty of technical knowledge, which he puts to good use monitoring and supporting Byte in combat. Calm, focused and friendly, he plays the witty straight-man to Luke's more lively personality, and is the most intelligent of the trio. He is aware of Charlie's feelings for Luke, although he chooses not to interfere. Henry's biggest ambition is to become a game designer, something which his parents (especially his father) are opposed to. As such, he will steadily learn to follow his heart while keeping in mind the importance of dedication and honing one's skills.
RUIKO KITAMURA
Country of origin: Japan
Age: 15
Ruiko joins the cast - and the others' classes - partway through season 1, having moved with her father from Japan. Something of a loner at first, she can come across cold and distant, taking a while to grow comfortable with people. Though she doesn't tell most people, she loves gaming (something she soon bonds over the others with), anime and manga, and has a habit of cosplaying in the privacy of her room. Making use of enemy weaponry, Ruiko plays back-up for Byte in combat. Her distant behaviour masks a low self-esteem, which will steadily improve as she continues to work alongside the others and develop.
